What is GRAIN & PAPER

I created Grain & Paper because film photography deserves to be experienced in print. After starting Film Reasons as a home for my photographic work, I realised that a screen could not provide the same physical, considered experience as holding a photograph in your hands. Grain & Paper gives each image a place to live beyond the camera roll: as a printed story, a moving image, and a prompt to notice the world differently.

What is included

  • One A5 film photograph printed as a physical piece to keep.

  • A personal field note sharing the story behind the image.

  • Exclusive access to a short behind-the-scenes and interview-style film.

  • One observational challenge inviting you to notice or photograph something in your own surroundings.

How Grain & Paper works

About the creator

I am an Art film photographer based in London, building Grain & Paper as a physical extension of my photographic practice. Through Film Reasons and this project, I am exploring how film photography can live beyond the camera roll and become something to hold, revisit, and share.

Shipping details

Woodland Post editions are mailed with a stamp to keep the cost of membership low. Because of this, tracking information is not provided.

The monthly sign-up cutoff is the 10th. Anyone who joins on or after the 11th will begin with the following month's edition.

If you select the monthly membership and join near the beginning of a new sign-up period, there may be some overlap between your first two payments before your first edition arrives. This is completely normal, and each payment goes toward its own individual monthly edition. You can always reach out if you would like your next monthly payment rescheduled.

Billing details

Please allow 7–14 business days after shipping confirmation for UK letters to arrive and approximately 2–4 weeks for International letters.

Subscription notes

Membership options renew automatically based on the payment schedule you select.

Monthly memberships can be canceled at any time to stop future monthly charges and mailings. Canceling does not cancel or refund an edition that has already been charged or processed.

Once an edition has been processed or mailed, it is considered fulfilled and is non-refundable.

If you need to cancel an upcoming renewal, update your mailing address, reschedule a monthly payment, or need help with anything at all, please don't hesitate to reach out.
